Ben Whittaker made a triumphant return to the ring on Saturday night, dispatching Jordan Grant in spectacular fashion with a third-round stoppage at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. The unbeaten light heavyweight sensation put on a show of skill, style, and power in front of an electric crowd as part of the Joshua Buatsi vs Pawel Stepien undercard.

Returning after an extended layoff due to injury, Whittaker (3-0, 2 KOs) wasted no time in re-establishing his presence in the division. With every bit of confidence befitting an Olympic silver medallist, he combined flair with clinical precision to take control of the fight from the opening bell.

After taunting and teasing his opponent with slick movement and flashy footwork, Whittaker dialled in his offense. A sequence of stiff jabs in the first round visibly disrupted Grant’s rhythm and left swelling under the Scot’s eye. The tempo increased in the second, as Whittaker began digging in heavier punches, including a vicious one-two that sent Grant (6-4) crashing to the canvas late in the round.

The third didn’t last long. Just 13 seconds in, Whittaker landed a sharp left hook that sent Grant stumbling sideways before collapsing to the floor. Referee Chris Dean immediately waved off the contest, recognizing Grant was unable to continue.

Trained by Javan ‘SugarHill’ Steward and signed with Anthony Joshua’s 258 MGT, Whittaker continues to build momentum in his young professional journey. Saturday’s performance, combining showmanship and punching accuracy, reminded fans why he’s considered one of Britain’s most exciting boxing prospects.

Despite his in-ring theatrics drawing a caution from the referee early on, Whittaker refocused and executed a technically sharp assault. His timing and reflexes seemed unaffected by the eight-month hiatus, suggesting his shoulder rehab was a complete success.

With this win, the 25-year-old reasserts himself as a fighter to watch in the light heavyweight division. His ambition to lead the next generation of British boxing seems well within reach if performances like this continue.

As Birmingham fans roared their approval, the message was clear: Ben Whittaker isn’t just back—he’s ready to rise.
