On the 4th April 2015 a heavyweight hoedown that went down in Newcastle. Anthony Joshua, fresh off the side-lines, came back with a bang that had the whole arena shaking like a pair of loaded dice.

Now, this cat Joshua, had been laying cats out left and right, making grown men look like rag dolls in the ring. But he’s been cooling his heels for nearly half a year. So everyone’s wondering, “Is the magic still there?”

Well, let me tell you, when AJ stepped into that ring with Jason Gavern, it was like watching a lion play with its dinner. Gavern, bless his heart, he’s seen some things in his day. But nothing could prepare him for the hurricane named Joshua.

From the get-go, Joshua was all business. Gavern’s trying to play peek-a-boo, ducking and dodging like his life depended on it. But AJ’s jab? It’s like a sledgehammer with a mind of its own. Poor Gavern’s knees were doing the Watusi before the first round was through.

Then the real fireworks started. Joshua’s treating Gavern like a game of Whac-A-Mole, and Gavern’s playing the mole. Down he goes once, twice, three times! The crowd’s going wild, thinking it’s all over. But Gavern? He’s tougher than a two-dollar steak. He keeps getting up, even throwing a salute to the fans. Now that’s what I call heart!

But in round three, Joshua decides it’s time to close the show. He’s throwing bombs like it’s the Fourth of July, and Gavern’s seeing more stars than the Milky Way. Down he goes again, and this time, the ref’s seen enough. It’s lights out, game over!

Now, you gotta give it to Gavern. He lasted longer than any of Joshua’s previous dance partners. But in the end, it was like trying to stop a freight train with a feather duster.

So, what did we learn? Anthony Joshua’s still got that magic touch, and he’s hungry for more. The heavyweight division better watch out, ’cause Big AJ’s back in town, and he’s looking to clean house!

Remember, folks, in the world of boxing, it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. And after this show? It looks like Joshua’s ready to move mountains.
